The book takes you to a very old place in Turkey called Göbekli Tepe, where ancient ruins are found. Our main character is Asa Campbell, an archaeologist who is very curious about this place. One day, he finds a skeleton in a hidden cave. When he touches it, something amazing happens – he gets to see the life of a man who lived there 12,000 years ago.

Asa doesn’t just watch this old life; he feels it and lives it as if he were a prehistoric person named Edric. He learns how people lived back then, the start of farming, and how they tamed animals. But suddenly, he’s back in his own time. He can’t forget what he saw, so he goes back to the cave and touches the skeleton again, going back to Edric’s world.
